PrimaKu Apps Revamp.
Role
UI/UX Designer, UX Researcher
Mission
Improving PrimaKu.

Overview
PrimaKu is a full Stack Parenting Ecosystem.
PrimaKu provides a support system for parents in ensuring excellent child health in Indonesia.
The application provides a holistic tracker to monitor and nurture child’s growth. Contents and recommendations in PrimaKu are tailored and supervised by Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI).

Revamp Reasons
This is PrimaKu before revamp.
In late 2021, PrimaKu revamped their mobile application. They had concern on ‘is it user friendly enough for users?’ Because the apps just based on what stakeholders wanted.

Design Process
The Journey!
From getting to know what PrimaKu wants until the feature live, I did all these steps:

Insight 1
PrimaKu is an apps that users rely for monitoring child’s growth.
From FGD I got the 1st insight, from the 1st question with “How’s everything with the new PrimaKu?” and they answered “I had to uninstall PrimaKu because all my child’s data from growth, development, everything is gone." I could feel the frustration that was coming from users.
Even though PrimaKu already tried their best to update the more on the design, but what’s hurt the most is PrimaKu used because of those feature. And unfortunately, some parents really rely on PrimaKu, they are no longer taking notes on Buku Kesehatan Ibu & Anak (KIA). But, thankfully, this one problem handled really well.
Insight 2
Using PrimaKu as a tracker, monitoring kids’ growth, development, and immunization.
To redefine the architecture of the app, I asked users to define what are some of the most important feature that they are mostly using in PrimaKu?
They answered with: Mostly for the growth, the development, immunization.
Users still not familiar with others feature because the previous one, PrimaKu only has those 3 features + article. And also, because PrimaKu changed their habits from Buku Kesehatan Ibu & Anak (KIA) to take notes with PrimaKu.

Solution 1
Get the information as easy as it can be!
From what users said, they are using PrimaKu mostly for growth, development, immunization feature. So, I changed the structure with by the moment users open the apps, users will get such information about their kids.
But why I changed the previous to this:
Because the previous, PrimaKu did not put the most important this that users need upfront, even the development feature was not there.

Solution 2b
Buku Anak is a tracker for child’s growth.
Buku Anak is the “Kesehatan Anak” in KIA book. Put information “before and latest” data for the child growth & development, and also a reminder what’s immunization next to get, medical record/ diary to what child’s feeling lately, so users can be easily knowing their child status.
But why I changed the previous to this:
The old Buku Anak design only showcase Pertumbuhan & Perkembangan, however Buku Anak has other 3 features, so in the revamp here I tried to enhance all Buku Anak features.
Solution 2a
Buku Anak:
Make Them Obvious
All 3 main features that user really use are there at Buku Anak, and continue reading for more explanation why Buku Anak needs to be obvious.

Solution 3
Users find answers.
Growth and development is important. The solution here in growth feature is that I rearrange the information, and also enhance the design to make it more visible and easy to navigate.
And also for growth & the development feature I added consultation feature, with reasons if anything happen to the result users can do a consultation. Thus, PrimaKu can boost the consultation feature too.

But why I changed the previous to this:
Too much information for the result page, status result not that visible, and there's no giving solution's if users find the result is not good.
Feedback
What users said.
I've collected review from Play Store & Apple Store after the revamped.

Retrospective
What I learn from the project
-
If I had more time, I’d have conducted usability testing instead of FGD design review compare to the last one.
-
Was my first time experiencing FGD, for the gathering insight first was super okay, but for the design review I think users answered similar to one another.
-
I learned to manage my time between my office hour work and my freelance hour work.
